GETTING THERE

For 2021, getting out to Telos 101 has never been easier. From Australia and all other major points in the world, you need to make your way to either of the following Indonesian international/domestic airport locations:

PADANG West Sumatra, Indonesia

(Minangkabau International airport)

Padang airport can be accessed directly from either Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta.

MEDAN North Sumatra, Indonesia (Kualanamu International airport)

Medan airport can be accessed direct from Singapore or alternatively also via Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.

*These are the main routings we suggest, but please note that as airline schedules frequently change, it is best to keep updated on various routes.

From Padang to Telos 101, the options are as follows:

PRIVATE SUSI AIR CHARTER FLIGHT

Susi Air offer Telos 101 guests the opportunity to fly direct out to the Telos islands from Padang airport on a 12 seater Cessna Grand Caravan. The scenic flight takes approximately 50 mins, allowing views of all the Telos archipelago and beautiful atoll sightings from the air. With board bags for all persons travelling, the max number of travellers permitted on a private charter is 9.

FAST FERRY

The introduction of the fast ferry from Padang to Telos has certainly been a game changer. These vessels are new, extremely fast for their size and very comfortable by Western standards. Air conditioned, single decked and capable of cruising at 26 knots, the trip to the South Telos takes approximately 7 hours. The fast ferry also has TVs throughout the vessel, with simple snacks and drinks on offer for purchase.

The ferry departs PADANG for/from Telos once a week, so it’s advised to liaise directly with us prior to booking any flights. Cost of your return ferry tickets for you and your boards is incorporated into your trip package with Telos 101.

From Medan to Telos 101, the options are as follows:

FAST FERRY TELUK DALAM (NIAS) TO TELOS (VIA MEDAN)

The Fast Ferry runs three times per week from Nias to Telos (return), and the trip takes approximately 2 hours. The ferry is the same ferry that runs between Padang and Telos (see above info on fast ferry).

To get this ferry across to Telos, you would be required to make your way to Medan’s Kualanamu International Airport. From Medan you need to catch a domestic flight to Gunung Sitoli in Nias Domestic (Binaka) airport. Garuda and Lion Air/Wings Air are the major carriers, with Garuda by far being the most reliable and hassle free.

This flight takes about 50 mins. Upon arrival at Nias, you will be met by Telos 101 representatives and driven from the airport to the fast ferry harbour situated in Teluk Dalam where you will be boarded for the short trip to Telos.

Whilst there is an extra flight involved in this route, the fast ferry running three times a week allows you some flexibility/reliability with your transfer dates.

After your short trip across from Nias to Telos, you will be met straight off the ferry and transported to our speed boats for the 15 min boat ride to Telos 101.

Again, the cost of your return transportation on the fast ferry is incorporated into your trip package with Telos 101. Likewise, you should communicate with Telos 101 prior to booking any flights to ensure your timings are workable.
